PA WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Worked as the sole, adaptable PA with eight ENT surgeons seeing patients of all ages with a range of otolaryngology complaints while assisting the two doctors at Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Pavilion
  • Performed hundreds of procedures in the outpatient setting to greatly shorten waiting times for myringotomy/tympanostomy tube placement, flexible laryngoscopy, ear cleanings under microscopy, oral and skin biopsies, abscess aspiration, small excisions, and more
  • Promoted optimal team practice and collaboration while fully managing most patients’ care by performing H&Ps, prescribing medicine, explaining results, and emphasizing patient education
  • Ordered and interpreted labs, CT scans, audiologic tests, pH probes, and other tests as necessary
  • Operated as First Assist in a variety of cases including thyroidectomy; parotid and other facial/neck tumor removal; breast augmentation, reduction, and reconstruction; and abdominoplasty

  • Assisted in every ENT surgical case with this physician for one year and provided pre- and post-op counseling to patients and their families
  • Provided instrumental patient-centered care in a rural clinic as well as private office setting in two cities to significantly increase access to medical care for underprivileged communities in California
  • Evaluated adult and pediatric patients as their sole provider and determined if surgery was necessary
